The m-Health & e-Health Development and Innovation Centre (MEDIC) at Mohawk College is Canada’s leading Digital Health Technology Access Centre, dedicated to advancing interoperability and digital transformation in healthcare. MEDIC partners with hospitals, health agencies, researchers, and industry leaders to design, build, and deploy secure digital health solutions that enhance care delivery and data exchange.

Powered by a multidisciplinary team of software developers, UX designers, and health technology specialists, MEDIC supports innovation across mobile, desktop, and cloud platforms — integrating seamlessly with medical devices and third-party systems. The centre is recognized nationally for its work with open standards such as HL7® FHIR® and for enabling safe, effective adoption of emerging technologies including AI and data analytics.

An emerging area of research at MEDIC explores healthcare robotics, including the use of TEMI robots to enhance patient interaction, clinical support, and operational efficiency in hospitals and long-term care environments. Through applied research and partnerships, MEDIC continues to drive Canada’s progress toward a more connected, intelligent, and patient-centred healthcare ecosystem.
