Strongest Families Institute (SFI) is a trailblazing Canadian charity delivering bilingual, evidence-based e-mental health (eMH) services to children, youth, adults, and families. Through SFI’s scalable universal eMH system of care using a stepped care model, SFI offers timely, cost-effective, and stigma-free support across the mental health continuum.
SFI is grounded in over 25 years of co-design and social science research using innovative technology and trained telephone coaches to deliver skill-building programs rooted in a cognitive behavioural approach. SFI’s programs address a range of mental health challenges for children, youth, adults and families, showing consistently strong impacts on mental health and impairment domains, high client satisfaction and low attrition rates. Designed to empower people across the lifespan, SFI ensures culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate care for diverse populations.
SFI's app is interoperable with its proprietary digital platform (IRIS), which houses all program iterations, allowing users to navigate the app seamlessly. SFI’s App has been certified by the Mental Health Commission of Canada and ORCHA. SFI has been internationally recognized for their social innovation through various awards (e.g., eMHIC Leadership, Governor General of Canada Innovation, Mental Health Commission of Canada, Digital Health Canada, and others).
