Inagene Diagnostics’ Scientific Director and Manager of Laboratory Operations is Benjamin Pinder, PhD. Dr. Pinder joined the Inagene team in 2018. He has extensive experience in genetics and genomics, is a member of the Pharmacogenomics Global Research Network, and has authored research publications on heritable autoimmune diseases, developmental biology, and gene regulation. He gained his expertise in next- generation sequencing and genotyping through his scientific management role at the MSH/UHN Clinical Genomics Center where he helped to develop technologies that underpin personalized healthcare.

Dr. Pinder obtained his PhD from the University of Toronto’s Department of Biochemistry and Collaborative Program in Developmental Biology. His thesis focused on mechanisms of gene regulation. His postdoctoral work at Toronto's Mount Sinai Hospital focused on the genetic determinants of heritable diseases and drug responsiveness. Dr. Pinder previously worked in drug discovery as a Scientist at Affinium Pharmaceuticals and holds a degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Guelph and a certificate in Personalized Genomics for Health from Stanford University.
