Dr James Woollard is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.

At Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, a mental health and community care provider, Dr Woollard leads digital transformation that takes a design thinking approach to the optimisation of the organisation’s existing systems and adoption of innovation to improve clinical safety and effectiveness. He is also working with colleagues across London to support collaboration on shared regional priorities for digital transformation in mental health services.

As a senior clinician in an integrated neurodevelopmental service for children, he has worked with his team to adapt and adopt new ways of working with technology to manage the needs of a rapidly growing caseload. He has previously published a book with Dr Victoria Betton on supporting professionals in engaging young people about their mental health and online worlds.

Dr Woollard has also held a national role in digital mental health for 10 years. He has supported the development and delivery of a range of national policy programmes and initiatives. Dr Woollard is committed to working across all levels of the NHS system to advance digital cultures, practices and technologies to transform mental health care.
