Speaker Bio

Dr. Leslie E. Roos is a Clinical Psychologist, Associate Professor in Psychology and Pediatrics at the University of Manitoba, and a Research Scientist with the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba. Her work focuses on advancing intergenerational wellness by supporting the mental health of parents and children, so families can pursue the lives they hope to live. A core part of this mission involves building and evaluating digital mental health tools that are scalable, evidence-based, and grounded in lived experience. Dr. Roos leads equity-focused training, implementation, and co-design initiatives with communities historically underserved by traditional mental health systems, including Indigenous newcomer, and racialized families. Dr. Roos collaborates with international teams to create culturally responsive and accessible programs, and helps inform digital health policy through national and global partnerships. She holds a BSc (Hons) from Brown University, an MS and PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Oregon, and completed her Clinical Residency at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. She was also a Junior Fellow with the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University.
