Dr. Wei has developed a strong track record in school mental health research over the past 16 years of work in schools across Canada and internationally. In the face of dire problems in the health systems, in large part due to the burden of poor mental health, Dr. Wei focuses on mental health literacy (MHL) in the school environment, a context in which many children spend most of their waking lives. All these works have reached various provinces/territories with more than 5,000 educators receiving training annually from her team in Canada, and some interventions have been implemented in more than 20 countries globally. Dr. Wei has co-authored approximately peer-reviewed publications, book chapters and one book on school mental health.
