Pediatrician and child and adolescent psychiatrist for 30 years, Allan Donsky is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Calgary. He is also a consultant psychiatrist developing mental health programs for youth and adults at The Canadian Institute of Natural and Integrative Medicine (Cinim.org) where he is Board Chair. He most recently sat on the Core Committee of the Alberta Health Services Addiction and Mental Health Strategic Clinical Network (SCN). 

Allan addresses contemporary mental health challenges that include languishing as a consequence of burnout, stress, and anxiety. He encourages inner transformative change in the service of holistic self-care and flourishing. He has purposefully dedicated himself to community outreach and capacity building, facilitating numerous workshops in academic settings, in not-for-profit agencies, and leading community groups. As an educator on transdisciplinary teams, he mentors medical residents and runs workshops and seminars. His current research interests are situated at the intersection of psychiatry, contemplative practices, and secular spirituality, and he has presented findings at diverse conferences. Allan’s ongoing endeavours are aimed at enriching the individual and collective human experience of greater wellbeing.
