Speaker Bio
I am a student, youth mental health advocate, researcher, and community builder with over five years of experience supporting peers through crisis work. I am currently in the final year of an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Gender Studies, with a minor in Global Development, at the University of Calgary. My academic interests focus on systems of power, social justice, and the ways personal challenges are shaped by broader social, cultural, and political conditions. I have contributed to national youth engagement strategies, advised on digital mental health tools, and supported research projects on inclusion, equity, and peer support. My work draws from both lived experience and frontline practice, especially in places where formal systems leave people behind. I create spaces for youth to show up as they are, and design supports that meet all people where they are, not just where the system expects them to be. Whether through writing, research, or public speaking, I will continue to challenge assumptions about care and invite others to think more relationally, more honestly, and more creatively about how we support one another.
