Dr. Aislin Mushquash is a Lakehead University Research Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Lakehead University. Dr. Mushquash received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Dalhousie University and post-doctoral fellowship in Pediatrics through the University of Alberta. Dr. Mushquash’s research has made meaningful contributions to advancing digital mental health through the design, implementation, and evaluation of tools that are evidence-based and equity-focused. She leads a multi-year program of research evaluating a resilience-focused app (JoyPop) for youth mental health, as a tool for mental health promotion, waitlist support, and treatment addition. Her work is grounded in implementation science and Two-Eyed Seeing principles, and informed by community partnerships. Dr. Mushquash has held millions of dollars of research funding to support her work and was recognized as an emerging leader in the digital mental health field through early career awards. Dr. Mushquash is now supporting national initiatives to bring greater support to underserved populations through her role as digital mental health lead in the ACCESS Open Minds Indigenous Youth Mental Health and Wellness Network. Dr. Mushquash is also a Registered Clinical Psychologist at Dilico Anishinabek Family Care where she provides assessment and treatment for Indigenous children, youth, and families.
