Speaker Bio

Dr. Sean Kidd is a Clinical Psychologist and serves as Co-Director of the Institute for Mental Health Policy Research and Senior Scientist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. He is also a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, as well as Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of A4i.
Dr. Kidd's research is grounded in the observation that those most in need of interventions to improve mental health and well-being often face the greatest challenges in accessing high-quality care.

He has an extensive track record of trialing interventions for psychosis populations. Over the past eight years, this has included the co-design, validation, and scaling of a digital health platform called A4i, which is being implemented in the U.S. and Canada, and has recently been tailored for opioid addiction populations. In the area of youth homelessness, Dr. Kidd is among the most published researchers internationally, having extensively studied risk and resilience in these populations. Over the past decade, he has worked to develop and trial a critical time intervention for youth exiting homelessness.
