Speaker Bio

Ryan DeVoe is a trauma-informed tech founder and lived-experience developer based in Flint, Michigan. After 27 years navigating fractured systems—CPS, EMS, foster care, juvenile justice, rural jails, and APS—he transformed survival into design. Eunoia AEI, his creation, is a radically ethical Augmented Emotional Intelligence platform built outside traditional academia or tech hierarchies. It operationalizes empathy, using glyphs (emojis) as a sacred neurodivergent language to stabilize nervous systems in crisis while honoring identity, consent, and emotional nuance.

Ryan’s journey from CPS case files to coding Python in four months reflects a mission forged by necessity: crisis support, real-time grounding protocols, and tools for neurodivergent healing. His work confronts the same abandonment that once defined his life—silent therapists, volatile family legacies, C-PTSD wired into his nervous system—but repurposes pain into power.

At eMHIC25 in Toronto, he’ll co-present with Professor Luke Balcombe to showcase how trauma-informed AI redefines resilience, proving that systems built by survivors don’t just endure—they heal.

Degrees in Sociology (Criminal Justice emphasis) and Psychology inform his unflinching vision, but his true expertise lies in rewriting brokenness through code that witnesses rather than uses.
