Dr. Kaitlin Di Pierdomenico is a postdoctoral visitor in the Department of Psychology at York University and with DIVERT Mental Health. Her research critically examines tensions between policy and practice in mental health reform, building on her doctoral work exploring how governance, funding, regulation, and service system design shape the pace and scale of reform in global mental health systems. Drawing on Mad activism, critical psychiatry, and institutional theory, Kaitlin’s work challenges dominant paradigms, exposes structural barriers to care, and advocates for mental health systems grounded in human rights and social justice.
Kaitlin is the lead author of a landmark systematic review and meta-analysis on universal (Tier 1) digital mental health interventions for children and youth, contributing critical evidence to the field. She is passionate about reimagining mental health systems that are equitable, inclusive, and responsive to diverse needs – centering the voices and experiences of communities.
