Demetra Mylonas is a Research Lead with Headwater Learning Foundation.  Demetra’s current areas of research are the Mental Health in Schools Pilot Project at Calgary Academy and Social Emotional Learning as a means of preventative mental health for students, parents, and teachers, at the individual and systemic levels.  She draws on the principles of neuroscience, neuropsychology, and special education to help improve the culture of mental health in education.  Demetra has held several research and field positions in autism, behavioral and psychoeducational assessment, and post-partum depression, as well as being an accredited Youth Mental Health Specialist.
