Taryn Ellens is the founder of AInome, a systems innovation company developing a real-time Mental Wellness Index for remote and Indigenous communities. She is also a PhD researcher at the University of Alberta, where her work explores the intersection of digital health equity, Indigenous data sovereignty, and mental wellness system design. With roots in clinical practice and a deep commitment to social impact, she brings a hybrid lens to the conversation, combining frontline experience with big-picture systems thinking.
Currently based in the Yukon, Taryn works in close partnership with First Nations to reimagine how mental health is measured, resourced, and supported across northern contexts. She is particularly interested in how digital tools can be used not just for service delivery, but for structural transformation and culturally aligned governance.
Through AInome, her vision is to build technology that listens to communities, and helps governments and organizations respond with insight, accountability, and care.
