Bridianne O'Dea is the Little Heroes Professor in Child and Adolescent Mental Health and a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Investigator at the Flinders University Institute for Mental Health and Wellbeing in Adelaide, South Australia. Before this, Professor O’Dea was based at the Black Dog Institute, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.
Professor O'Dea leads an established program of research that uses novel digital technologies for the prevention, early intervention, and treatment of mental health problems in adolescents. O’Dea has led several clinical trials of novel digital interventions across schools, healthcare settings, and within the community. Professor O'Dea's work integrates the disciplines of psychology, public health, and computer science to design and test digital solutions for mental health problems that are not only effective but engaging and scalable.
