A006 - From Open-Access Tools to Nationwide Scale-Up: New Insights from WHO’s Digital Mental Health Work
Time
11:50 AM - 12:00 PM (EST)
Description

WHO has developed a suite of evidence-based tools and resources that can be used digitally, and are designed to be effective, feasible, and adaptable across countries of all income levels, including low resource settings. These tools aim to support the scale-up of accessible, quality mental health care.

This work includes self-help interventions for common mental health conditions (e.g. Doing What Matters in Times of Stress, Step-by-Step, and STARS), decision-support tools such as emhGAP, and initiatives to expand competency-based training and supervision through the WHO/UNICEF EQUIP project. A key lesson from this experience is that well-designed, co-created, open-access, and evidence-based content, provides a strong foundation for innovative use across multiple platforms and delivery models.

This session will provide new insights from WHO’s work, highlighting evidence and examples of nationwide scale-up, innovative co-created and adapted versions of the interventions, and effective implementation models. It will also explore how these tools can be further adapted to reach greater scale.
