Most people practicing and researching mental health in regulated professions have been trained in a Western, Eurocentric approach to understanding well-being and healing. At the same time, technology is evolving at a pace that few mental health professionals can keep up with, despite the increasing role it plays in the lives of the children and families we work with. 

To shrink the gap between current practice and the integration of diverse knowledge and cultures in mental health research, training, and practice, new advances in e-mental health must embrace diversity.
