Key initiatives to improve coping ability through self-directed activities: 1) Healthy 365 is a free health and wellness tracking mobile application developed by HPB to encourage users to adopt healthier lifestyles through digital features, gamification, and rewards. The app pairs with both HPB-issued trackers and commercial fitness tracking devices to monitor physical activity and sleep. As at 31st December 2024, about 45% of Singapore adults are users of Healthy 365 app. 1a) Overview of the app before diving into one of its core mental well-being initiatives—the Sleep Challenge which encourages sleep tracking and sufficient daily sleep for health and well-being. 1b) Areas to be covered under Sleep Challenge: i) How the pilot Sleep Challenge was designed and later enhanced using behavioural science principles ii) Key insights and user learnings from the evolved challenge iii) How the challenge transitioned from periodic campaigns to an “always-on” format, now supported by personalised Smart Automated Nudges and, soon, weekly lifestyle quests to reinforce good sleep hygiene practices 2) LumiHealth is a partnership between HPB and Apple that motivates individuals to adopt healthy habits through curated health challenges, activity coaching, and incentive-based rewards. Users can sign up with just their iPhones, or they can pair their Apple Watch to unlock more features and personalised insights. The programme guides users through small, achievable steps towards better health, including mental well-being. As of 31 Dec 2024, we have seen a positive response to LumiHealth, with over 226,000 activated users on the experience. 2a) Examples of mental well-being-related quests featured in the app will be shared, such as those promoting positivity, gratitude, and social connection. Conclusion: Summary of key insights from both digital platforms with reflection on how these self-directed, tech-enabled initiatives have contributed to supporting mental well-being in Singapore, future directions and opportunities for scaling such approaches.
